"The Picture of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde (1890) - REVIEW

Goodday and welcome to
"The B.B. Weekly Review"

Back Cover Blurb:  When the exquisitly handsome Dorian Gray see his portrait he dreams of remaining young forever whilst his painting image grows old and in a sudden moment he offers his soul in return for perpetual youth.
While his beauty remains unblemished, the portrait begins to reflect the wildness and degredation of his soul as he surrenders to the worship of pleasure and infinate passion
Review: Oscar Wilde's classic, "The Picture of Dorian Gray", gives us a sneak-peak at the gruesome nature underlying humnities beautiful facade. This was a captivating novel. When Dorian Gray's true beauty is captured in a portrait by his friend Basil, Dorian makes a wish that he will always remain as he is in that picture. Little does he know the implications of that wish will shape the rest of his life. Dorian grows old and rotten to the core, but his exterior remains young and beautiful. His beastly behaviours magically transfer to the lovely work of art whihc he now keeps hidden because of it's ghastly appearnce. This is a wonderful look into the human soul and teaches us the age old truth; never judge a book (or person) by it's cover.

My Rating: 4/5
